In foster care, the little girl we have been taking care of since April 25th 2018, was legally adopted by our family! The feeling is very emotional not just pure excitement b ut all kinds of feelings. We don’t have any children of our own and she will be 3 years old in August. We currently foster a 4 year old that we took in last summer, got returned to biological mom then removed thanksgiving morning and put back in our care. The feeling of caring for her is different than our “new” daughter. We are looking to care for her while in foster but the plan right now is not to adopt. I guess I am still isolated from my world so I feel like sharing with my Oppo friends. Something care related for your time:

Thanks, the kids seem to be the easy part. The legal system on the other hand is infuriating and I’m not even on the criminal side!

I read this whole post thinking it was a humorous post about buying a used Porsche. Read the comments and realized you were referring to fostering humans. It’s been a long year...
Good on you. It takes special people to voluntarily take on a a three year-old. Sending positive vibes that you can help heal their trauma.

Congratulations on growing the family.
As an adoptive parent of two (not foster however) I can say it is both great and challenging at the same time. The best line I have read is that “having children provides you with a source of joy available to you at any time” and even when it’s hard, the joy is there .
